Abstract :

One of the most important things in orthodontic treatment planning is to establish the dental arch form, which consists of anteroposterior position of the incisors and dental arch widths: intercanine width and intermolar width. Today, it is known that only a limited amount of posterior dental arch width change is possible, and a change in the region of the canines is particularly limited. In this article, basic knowledge of form and widths of dental arch were reviewed. Treatment considerations to determine stability of the form and widths of dental arch were also mentioned.
