Dental services in the dental clinic of Chulalongkorn University Dental Hospital

Abstract :

Objective  Having collected the data from 6,354 cases about the dental services given by the dental clinic of Chulalongkorn University dental hospital. The author has evaluated the data for the purposed of helping in setting up policies and planning to suit the requirements and need of the patients.

Materials and Methods  From the study and survey the patient’s record and their treatment files of 6,354 cases during the period of July to December 1999. We analysed the data by calculating in percentage and comparison the differences kind to dental services by identify age range, sex and occupation.

Result and conclusion  We found out that the main dental service render to the patients were Filling (41%), Scaling and periodontal treatment (23%), Emergency treatment (14%) and others relative dental care (22%). From the date we can tell that the major problem were dental caries and periodontal diseases, Which apart of the patients visiting the clinic when they are suffering from toothache. It is highly recommended to have preventive dentistry campaign and the patients should come to check up every 6 months.
