Dental procedures in patients with bleeding disorder can be successfully performed with the cooperation of dentists and physicians. Hemostatic disorders, involving endothelium, platelet and coagulation factors, induce different manifestations of bleeding episodes. History taking, physical examination and appropriate laboratory testings are essential for identifying the cause of bleeding disorders. Then, specific treatment or replacement therapy can be provided for maintaining the hemostasis during dental procedures. Importantly, the application of dental splints and fibrin glue is a helpful measure in ascertaining the local hemostasis. As a consequence, the replacement therapy can be minimized or omitted. Another considerable aspect is the cost of the commercial imported fibrin glue, which is rather expensive, compared to the ‘in-house’ preparation of lyophilized cryoprecipitate and 100 unit/ml of human thrombin.

                In conclusion, the local measure of dental splints and fibrin glue will provide effective hemostasis during dental procedures in patients with bleeding disorders, as the replacement therapy is minimized or omitted.
