Abstract :

Nowadays, a wide variety of light-curing dental materials has been developed extensively,
such as restorative materials, adhesives and resin cements. Therefore, the light-curing unit is an
important equipment in dental practice, resulting in the development of various light curing units,
which have a different wavelength and intensity of light. Appropriate light intensity is fundamental for
the polymerization of the material, to develop satisfactory physical properties and also to evaluate
performance of the light-curing units. This review article presents the development of light-curing
units, light intensity and factors affecting light intensity of light-curing units.
